Kerrville Pets Alive! History
KPA! Was formed in 2019 following a community meeting where Kerr County residents expressed concern over the large number of animals that were being euthanized at our county shelter, Kerr County Animal Services. In 2017, hundreds of cats and dogs were put to sleep and taken to our county landfill. These animals were either turned in by their owners or were found as homeless strays. Many were healthy and adoptable.
Since our formation, we have been able to substantially decrease the number of cat and dog euthanasias by providing Kerr County Animal Services and Kerr County Pet Owners resources to save lives.
Time is running out for many Kerr County shelter animals.

At Kerrville Pets Alive!, we create innovative programs that give at-risk animals a second chance.
