Animal Response Crisis Center (ARC)

The Animal Response Crisis Center (ARC) at the Kerrville Pets Alive! S.A.F.E. Campus is designed to serve as a centralized hub for emergency response during companion animal crises across Kerr County. In times of disaster, the ARC ensures that no pet is left without care, coordination, or a path home.

The ARC will provide:

  • Emergency Shelter & Supply Storage

    Stocked with essential resources to safely house and care for displaced animals, with the capability to transport supplies to remote or impacted areas.

  • Search & Rescue Training Facility

    A dedicated space to train volunteers in pet search and rescue operations, strengthening community preparedness.

  • Volunteer Coordination & Support Hub

    A central location for volunteer check-in, coordination, and hospitality during active response efforts.

  • Pet Reunification Center

    A safe, organized space focused on reconnecting lost pets with their owners.

  • Lost & Found Command Center

    A coordinated system for tracking, identifying, and managing lost and recovered animals.

  • Emergency Veterinary Care Clinic

    Providing minor medical treatment for pets injured during a disaster.

  • Community Supply Distribution Center

    Supporting pet owners in need with access to food, crates, and essential supplies.

  • Support Extension for Animal Control

    Operating as a supplemental branch for Kerr County Animal Control during high-demand emergency situations.
